We had an amazing day at the 3rd annual Southeast Paraclimbing Competition, with 38 climbers competing this year! Central Rock Gym Kennesaw went above and beyond as our incredible host to make this event a success for athletes, volunteers and spectators alike.
We were thrilled to see climbers from all walks of life come together, from first-time competitors finding their rhythm to seasoned professionals pushing their limits. The energy was electric as athletes tackled the challenging and creative routes set by the instructors and students from the Paraclimbing Setting Clinic (shoutout to Aaron, Nohl, Ian, Ashton, and Ruth for all their hard work)!
At its core, this event was about more than just competition—it was about connection, creativity, and celebrating what’s possible. Watching climbers adapt their beta to the routes, support one another, and cheer each other on reminded us why we do what we do.
Events like this are only possible with the generous support of our sponsors. We’re especially grateful to the Dralla Foundation for their continued commitment to accessibility in adaptive sports, making this event accessible to as many climbers as possible! Huge shout out to our returning sponsors, Walltopia and POA of Tennessee, whose support support strengthens the paraclimbing community year after year. We also want to thank the REI Cooperative Action Fund, Path-Way Foundation, Luluma, the Climbing Wall Association, and Burlaep Print and Press. Lastly, thanks to the generosity of Patagonia, Metolius Climbing, Mammut, ZigZag Climbing, and Sterling Rope, our climbers didn’t just leave with memories but also some incredible prizes!
Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and cheered from the sidelines. We can’t wait to see what next year brings as the Southeast Paraclimbing Competition continues to grow. See you on the wall!
