Welcome to the Knoxville, Tennessee Chapter

We provide life changing, community based, adaptive adventure sports programs for people with physical disabilities in Knoxville and the surrounding community.

At this Knoxville location, we offer monthly opportunities for adaptive rock climbing, kayaking, and mountain bike adventures!

ADAPTIVE ROCK CLIMBING

Indoor Rock Climbing: We host a monthly adaptive climbing clinic for youth and adults with a wide range of physical disabilities. These sessions are open to all levels of climber; from those who have never climbed before to experienced climbers looking for regular opportunities to climb with others. These events are held at The Climbing Center at RiverSports. Please park and enter behind RiverSports.

When: 1st Saturday of each month, 10am -12pm

ADAPTIVE MOUNTAIN BIKING

Come and try adaptive mountain biking on the adaptive trails at various locations, including Sharps Ridge (North Side), Baker Creek Preserve, or a greenway.

Where: We will update the location prior to each event.

ADAPTIVE BIKE RENTALS

We have a fleet of adaptive bikes available to rent. Please contact knoxville@catalystsports.org for more information and to discuss bike choices and availability. The fee to rent is $40/day with a $20 first-time fee for fitting. We have bikes that are suitable for all ages and can be adapted and fitted to accommodate riders’ needs.

ADAPTIVE KAYAKING

Come and enjoy kayaking at The Cove in Knoxville. We use adaptive equipment and trained volunteers to make kayaking accessible to everyone.

Before registering please make sure you meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for this program.

Location: The Cove – 11808 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN 37922

Fee: $10

Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers to support the adaptive kayaking program. The role includes transporting boats, helping to transfer participants, making adaptions to kayaks, and being on the water in a kayak as a support person.  You do not need to be an experienced kayaker or have your own boat but be willing and able to perform all aspects of the role. To register as a volunteer, first, complete the membership. Our volunteer training will take place on Tuesday, May 23, 4 pm – 6 pm. Register to attend training here.
Once you have registered for the training you will be able to sign up for future kayaking programs on the schedule. Any questions please contact stevie@catalystsports.org
