Adaptive Cycling
A Unique Cycling Program
Our adaptive Cycling program is based in Atlanta, GA. Through the generous support of our local Atlanta donors we have had the unique opportunity to create an adaptive cycling program on the Silver Comet Trail which consists of monthly rides, fittings, rentals, and joining the community for other races and rides.
Monthly Ride
Each month we ride together out of the Bike Barn on the Silver Comet Trail. There are adaptive bikes available to borrow or bring your own to ride with the group. Cycling volunteers provide support along the trail.
Location: The Bike Barn, 4342 Floyd Rd SW, Mableton, GA 30126
Fee: $10 to rent. Free if you bring your own bike.
Volunteer: Bring your bike and join us to support adaptive cyclists.

Essential Eligibility for Adaptive Cycling

Rider has a permanent, disabling condition.

Rider can make safe cognitive decisions in a fast-paced changing environment.

Rider can follow all safety precautions identified by the instructors.

Rider can hold their head upright without any head and/or neck support.

Rider can wear a properly fitted and rated bike helmet, as well as any other safety equipment appropriately.

Rider can transfer in and out of the bike independently or with some assistance

Rider can remain alert and focused for the duration of the ride.
Fittings and Rentals
Our adaptive cycle loan program is designed to allow individuals with a physical disability to be fitted for an adaptive bike and to take the bike on loan to learn and enjoy all the benefits of cycling.
If you have never tried an adaptive bike before please first schedule a fitting before renting. Once you have either ridden with us or completed a fitting, you are free to rent that bike whenever you would like.

Cost
$40 per day
Loan Period
Rent the bikes per day or for multiple days. The daily price is the same.
Cancellation and refund
A full refund will be issued if you cancel prior to your booking time.
If you do not show up at the time of booking, no refund will be issued.
